Rockfish on Light Tackle

For the light tackle enthusiast, catching Rockfish in the chum slick fills the bill for fast action. Late May and June is the time to look for schools of fish on "hard spots" on bottom along the edge of the deep water channel.

I use medium-light spinning rods with 12 pound test monofilament line. The boat is anchored allowing the fisherman to catch and fight the fish his way.
